A Different Shade

A Different Shade

Eyes blue as the sea
Your smile is a vibrant green
Mixed in with the rages of the redness and the sadness melancholy yellow
When I see your face
Tears stream down my cheeks

How do I fix a torn-up and tattered soul
Can't use any tape or adhesive glue
To find the rips along the way
If I could
Your beautiful heart wouldn't be broken
Whole, it would stay

I cradle you in the only shelter I know of
Stay in my arms and together we can find the grace of God

To carry us weakened to the farthest shore
I must be brave, I must be strong

No Color is relevant for this purity, and simple bliss

Elegantly you etch your name into the side of my face with your finger

Oh dear I wish we could linger

I know it's a long road in a endless crowd of faces and places where we don't feel to belong

I also know our love is a
Different Shade
