Sober

Sober

I can't let myself fall for you,
That would be the worst thing to do.
I can see through you, you're not my type,
And all that other relevant tripe;
I don't really have a type, that's true...
But if I did, it wouldn't be you.

I think you're the devil in disguise,
With luscious lips and magnetic eyes -
A combination that beguiles,
Along with all your charms and wiles.
It's an intoxicating mix,
But I'm not looking for a fix.

I soberly, clearheadedly
Tell you to keep your distance from me;
My heart will never be yours to break,
And you will not be my next mistake.
You'll find somebody else, I know...
And I'll be glad to see you go.
