Out Past the Sunset

Out Past the Sunset

Out past the sunset,

And far beyond the sea,

I wonder if there was a you,

I wonder if there was a me.

I contemplate the possibility,

Of if we were meant to be.

Perhaps the saddest thing,

Is that Ill never get to see.

Down below the mountains,

And far beyond the waves,

Pieces were slowly put together,

Maybe well meet again someday.

The opportunity has slipped,

Through my fingers turned to ash.

But the world is so chaotic,

That maybe here we wouldnt last.

I wonder if Im crazy,

But I think of all the signs.

Too many to count,

I was yours and you were mine.

I punish myself with the thought,

Of being able to feel your touch.

As if having you ripped away,

Isnt bad enough.

I imagine it feels like fire,

When your hands meet my skin.

I applaud the lucky ones,

Who got the experience.

Out past the sunset,

And far beyond the sea,

I wonder if there was a you,

I wonder if there was a me.
