You and Me

You and Me

You and me, we dance to the same music
Gently swaying to the beat in our hearts
As our bodies intertwine.

You and me, we share the same sins
Destines to end in glorious fire
Our hearts forever bound by our love.

You and me, we drink the same poison
To escape for awhile to our imaginations
Where the impossible becomes ordinary.

You and me, we think the same thoughts
Pondering over the beauty of dissonant chords
And how the music of the Gods is over the hills and far away.

You and me, we have the same sorrows
Trying to mend our broken souls
But breaking them again, just so they can be mended.

You and me, we are doomed to suffer
For we are perfection
Too pure, yet too damaged, for such a cruel world.
