my misery

my misery

I use to look at you and see a never ending light
a warming glow that could make everything alright
my safety blanket who soothed me through the night
you were everything to me....and without you I was incomplete
but tainted hearts were intertwined the day our marriage made you mine
the ring placed on my finger a noose...for I had signed my death sentence
the spark that burned once in my soul...you were determined to dim it's glow
I gave you everything and yet you wanted more
now I sit in this room anticipating divorce
the love that I once knew has become dark
the light in your eyes has become a scorching flame
the thought of your flesh against me only causes pain
my heart is cold ,dark, and afraid
because of you I'll never be the same
