Fallen

Fallen

Ocean tides forever changing
Across an endless sea
Ropes twisted, frayed and broken
Sad words regretfully spoken
Falling to a memory.

Desert winds whispering sadly
Across dry and wasted land
Searching for a place to be
A shadow makes for company
Single footprints in the sand.

Crimson skies promise mystery
Across wide and open plains
Vivid colours inviting you to dance
Conjuring thoughts of sweet romance
Forgotten love that still remains.

Night's darkness casting shadows
Trying to fill this empty space
Forced smiles conceal
What time can't heal
Ashamed
Falling from grace.
