Conversation with Ghost.

Revision.

A swirl of Autumn
curls around my feet

Puddled water
on pavement
ripples
winter's vague promise
offering
shallow grave whispers.

My mouth opens
dead leaves fall
in blazing red and gold

And you are speaking

in stark dead branches

cold stonewalls

a vagrant’s stare

I am
colder now
than your kiss

I am older now
than the sun-eyed boy
you ravaged
for tasty morsels of innocence.

Let this become
just the conversation with ghost
I wished would never come

but once done

once done
