I see your face
I can’t remember your name
In a way you resemble me
But as for who I am and what I am
We’ll have to wait and see

I know that face
but to whom does it belong
I could swear it looks like me
but as for who it is
as for what it is
seems just like mystery

Two people
One’s a reflection
It’s pretty plain to see
But as for who you are
And as for what you are
The answer isn’t me

The answer is another one
To share my cup of tea
But as for who we are
And as for what we are
Togetherness is the key

Two trees bend toward one another
As a form of company
But as for where we’re going
And who we know
And what’s it going to be
I hope that if I bend toward you
You’d bend a bit toward me

(Check that date. I was 19 years old. This poem is 24 years old! Damn, I’m old! But I knew some things then didn’t I? Maybe I need to read some more of my old stuff. Now if I could just remember which boxes they’re in.)
