The Coldest Shoulder

The Coldest Shoulder

A rainy night in cold November,
the coldest night I dare remember.
As freezing rain bombarded my nape,
love bent out of shape.

A breathtaking night in misty fall,
the foggiest night I dare recall.
As blinding wisps invaded my eye,
I positioned a pillow to cry.

A windy night within the city,
the most brisk night, devoid of pity.
As howling chills stampeded my spine,
tears diluted the wine.

A nippy night within the heart,
the coldest shoulder I dare depart.
As icy moods impaired my speech,
years for thaw beseeched.
