Someday Is Insufficient

Someday Is Insufficient

They make aircraft
to fly across the sea,
the world. Meals
with no appeal and
incomplete sleep.

They print books
to read along the way,
pass the time. Tour
guides and tomes
that would lie unread
in any other circumstance.

They make luggage
large and small,
always too small.
They print schedules
and timelines,
never on time.

Someday is insufficient.
Some week, some month,
some time sometime
soon if you will.

But stay dressed,
gifts
should be
unwrapped and
the scent of plumeria,
just as sweet.
