Winged Love

Blistered fingers reach for the chewed up pen
There is no time for the world, but life could pass him by and he would still write
of her every feature, her soft bird like hands which he dreams will one day perch on his shoulders
They could dance, if they knew how
They could love, if they knew eachother
Yet he feels he knows her more than anyone
the way she mumbles hi, how she tries to look lost in deep thought, how she wants to feel everything about being in love

They are empty shells

He would believe in everything, if some coincidence could make them meet
but he'd rather adore her from afar scared that she might fly away
Love shared between the two would be a miracle, but he knows dreams can last forever
He will not have all the glances they shared become an illusion
He will not have her marred by harsh realities
and yet he is also scared that she might be too perfect or that he might not be enough to handle such a creature
So with blistered fingers he reaches for his chewed up pen and writes her love letters that he will never send

His windows are open
If only some gentle breeze could let one letter reach those soft hands
They could adore eachother

She walks by his window thinking about her empty heart
And with a great burst of wind, her feathery hair is thrown in front of her eyes
With little effort she slows down, picks herself up and is gone for the day
He sits in his room searching for his freshly signed letter
and wonders if it sprouted wings and flew for love
And very soon he starts for the window

Winged love found her and her heart
She turned around and perched at his window
They met
They talked
They adored eachother
They held hands and nolonger were empty shells
He believed in everything
and with a nurtured hand he wrote.
