He Lives On

He Lives On

In dedication to my grandfather.

In a quite, darkened room
lying motionless,
a tired and frail figure,
his body withered and worn,
ravaged by ailing years.
Submerged in soaked garments,
etching creases into his cold pale skin,
with no attendance
to his silent cries.

His taut blue eye's
pience the sky's illusion
streaming shattered tears
through the glistening view.
He awaits the sun's peak
to shine light upon his faith,
greeting destinys embrace.

But he shall not be broken
nor be burdened by fear;
he knows he will unite
in glory,with his shining bride,
bringing life once again
back into his soul.
