Ice tea without you

Ice tea without you

Without you ice tea does not taste as good
the sugar will not mix
and the natural lemon taste fails my taste
As you watched bloody battles for love
I watched bloody battles of lust
While the t.v. flickered,
and all I could see was the glow
I thought of you
The girl's head was in my way
and I heard the sharp simple sound
Commercials were over for then
And I continued to think of you
After sneaking fugitives from fighting mentors
and going back to nestle in my own messy home
I made ice tea
watered to the top, wet spoon with mix to dip
I took my time and shook
Without you ice tea does not taste as good
I took a sip
you snuck secretly to my window
and knocked swiftly
I let the draft in, ran out, into your cold arms
and we let wet steam warm our feet as it clouded up the moon
I tried to warm you
We talked about tomorrow and all the I-would-if-I-could's
We said goodbye and you said take care
I waited for someone's sympathy to open the door
a few tries and I did
Took another sip
It is as if our sweetness drifted into my old bottle,
It is warm
And all along I knew it was bound to occur
