Be held

Be held

Holding, grasping, squeezing
Actions feel louder than yearn
holding you in my arms
kissing you goodnight
nails digging in your back
you wait for me downstairs

You listen,
to my pigmented painting plans of my playful partner in crime and I pounding, panting and pleading,
with a perplexed pleased pout of laughter

Squeezing tight as we say goodbye
grabbing my wrists
you hold me tight
you hold my hands

I am your catcher in the rye
and I cling to you

you have me at hello and goodbye
in dark movies at my side you grip my thigh
when work beckons you wind up the coils in my mind
holding is right now

but holding means something that was not, now is,
that one day I will have to let go

and lay you softly sleeping on dew dropped green grass
promises will stay,
and when our year comes,
I will be the evil bunny
and you another sad boy lost in boring strange old fields
