My precious son, what can I do,
to ease your crushing pain?
All these years, I've hid from you,
while suffering through life in vain.
Money can't be everything,
for wealth is love and wisdom,
but every month, the same old sting,
our lingering, cancerous schism.
If by chance you behave like me,
I apologize for the mixture,
but some day soon, I hope to be,
a permanent fatherly fixture.
Every moment, I often dream
my son forgives my sin.
So I apologize for the way it seems,
but this way we both win.
