Heart of mine
asea, amid her storm
you've washed ashore

Heart of mine
were that you might see these last three years as I do
with a sullen, sunken, sorrowful pain
an untenable curiosity of
poem not meant for you
you might have seen

Heart of mine
were that you might feel these last three years as I do
with the excitement, verve and anticipation
an unachievable dream
then discounted
you might have felt

Heart of mine
were that you might hear a heart now
your cries, sighs and lies of yesterdays
would break and crumble
revealing to you
once and for all
a remedy
in two
that can become

Heart of mine
were that you might believe now
calm has finally come
you might love
