Were my ears not perfect,
my eyes,
soul, untrue
opinions duplicitous
were I two-faced,

I could convince you
of this one thing:

that at that time
out of the corner of my eye, I saw
Cristo Redentor
and the gang from Mount Rushmore,
along with Paul Bunyan and Babe

flinging

the Taj Mahal
into the Bering Straits
to string them together
with high-speed cable
and using the Eiffel Tower
as an oar

so they could
row, row, row ya boat
to safety
after the Tsunami of 2004

and other colossal lies
like the one of friendship
you laid on me

but I can’t

I’m genuine and believed:
I won’t walk away

which makes me
a colossal fool
