Drifted Love

He’s sitting there in silence, and his back’s against the wall.
She wakes up every night, and it’s his name she softly calls.
He tries so hard; the fights just keep on getting worse each night.
She hears the baby crying, but she just turns out the light.
They drifted off to nothing, but it’s nothing that they hold,
Still longing for eachother while the memories grow old.

He lies there beside his wife and knows it's for the kids.
She looks at her husband and wonders what she did.
He walks out the door, releasing his emotions into the storm.
She's driving down the street and see's an image begin to form.
He see's the headlight's brighten and pull up along side.
She asks the man to join her, clearly he needs the ride.

He leans in closer and see's his dreams are real.
She sheds a single tear for the happiness she feels.
They drove around awhile and it felt like time stood still.
Reversed, back to the times before the flowers start to wilt.
The storm had passed as they reached his front door.
Both hearts start to cry, as they must be apart once more.
