A passion that was likened-
To the intense heat of the sun-
Engulfed us,
Whenever metthe hotness of our two lips-
Has turned as cold ,
As artic icebergs,
Icebergs that sink passing ships.
A desire that had once intoxicated me-
Like the fragrant beauty-
Of a velvety crimson rose,
So sweet-
Lies now,
In lifeless tatters-
At my feet.
A mournful song-
I sing to you-
As i kneel down,
By your side-
A tear swells, then breaks and fall,
For the ebbing-
Of love's tide.
At last-
An eulogy to love-
I've painfully paid,
At death's door,
Love's been solemnly laid-
I've kissed love good-bye,
Bidded farewell,
To my fond and fleeting gladness-
For love has died,
I have cried,
And I wear the veil of sadness.
