till night do we part

till night do we part

I slip into the morning
and awaken my face

hold tight to my heart
afraid that I'll loose it
my mind is long gone

I use to be a fool
there's nothing sweeter
but with teary open eyes
I see the hopelessness of us

we twirl into fantasy
shake off dusty dreams
interlace fingers, and play pretend
as if emotions could last forever

but we know we can not
we know we will not
and we haven't even begun

there's a lovely mess between us
and hopes that tickle new horizons
every sparkly phantom of reality
appears to take our breaths away

and I am drained

floating on feathers
grasping to clouds
and time is a ticking shelter to avoid

pushing with it's stress and strain
our beds will be full
but never with eachother's company

nor the love we feign to gain

to loose what's left of the days
to make up for what was never made

so at night do we part
tearing at impenetrable hearts
wistfull and reknown
planting infatuations of our own

I slip into the night
and hold softly our last trace

it hangs high with years of sighs
