flight of fancy

flight of fancy

I once thought I liked a boy,
I don't know what to say,
I didn't know him all that well,
We hardly spoke all day,

Our eyes held more words,
Than our lips could ever bear,
Which changed from tender glances,
To occasional cold, hard stares,

It's strange to live a passion,
Through an unspoken second life,
Maybe it's me or maybe it's him,
What curse caused this throw of the dice?

Now no comfort do I get,
When a million miles away,
I'll never see his face at dusk,
to hold hope for another day
