Pompous and stupid
Distant and cold
Too near to be far
Too young to be old.
Ships passing at night
Should have passed faster
No collision, no icebergs
Yet still a disaster
Worlds apart reaching
Threads holding fast
Nothing held onto
No hint of a past
Gripping at darkness
Holding through tears
Bound tight to nothing
With a heart free of fears
No reason for notice
No reason at all
Not walking at heights
Yet still manage to fall
Beware unchained hearts of the imminent danger
Love without reason; love for a stranger.
