A Moment

A Moment

For so long I wanted to forget my youth
Turning my back on what hurt so much.
It tormented me then,
And haunts my reminicent thoughts
In an attempt to romanticise
A heart break.
You appeared from that past
With a smile
That friendly gesture
turned on its head my troubled memories
Preserveing what little faith that exists in
youths humanity
That people change
We never are what we once were.
Instead what remains is a shadow of innocence
from a mature sun
For once I felt like my past smiled at me
For being me
For once
