Do The Children Know

Do The Children Know

He walked with dignity,
held his head high.
Hands in his pockets,
so full of pride.

Had his own business,
yet worked another job.
Still not enough money,
he kept pushing along.

He had a wife and children.
Did they understand?
His life of working,
was not for himself,
but for them.

The years they flew,
his wife had passed.
The children grew and most had left.

His life had ended,
GOD called him home.
His heart was mended,
for the children now know.

His love,
his life,
was all for them.
And in their hearts,
he WILL ALWAYS live.
