The Struggle

The Struggle

It was my chattel, no one should of touched!
Promises were broken and losses have taken
me for a down drunk.
Deliriums, delusions and convulsions too.
Don't forget the shakes.
God please help me!
I feel like I fell into an ice cold lake.
I went for help, they sent me away to
rehabilitate one day.
One shot, two shots three shots, four,
valium, valium, I cry for more.
They sent me to meetings,
only to express, my down
right feelings of being depressed.
I cried in the morning, I cried in the evening.
Only to know if there was a meaning.
One month passes, meetings, meetings,
now I say my greetings.
Sober for today and proud of it,
and have a lot to say and stand up and I showed it!
Thank you God, thank you family, and friends,
for showing me how hell can end!
