Baby Blues

Baby Blues

How they sparkle and shine,
Eyes so filled with innocence and trust
Looking into mine.

Her angelic face in repose
Skin so delicate and fresh
Every so often, crinkling at the nose.

As her tiny hand wraps tightly around my finger,
I wish for this moment
And all alike forthcoming,to linger.

Ten little toes altogether on her feet
In the near future
The floor they will meet.

Her helpless cry is a song in my ears
Like the sound of no other-
Asking me to calm all her fears.

My heart overflows with feelings of affection,
And undying love
For this little being of perfection.

Watching my precious baby sleep,
As she rests in my arms,
I think how this memory I will forever keep.

But my sweet baby I will never know
Never will I listen for her cry, see her walk,
Watch her grow.

My baby will never be born
Of this I will make certain-
She does not deserve a mother who is torn.
