As I walk down the street
by myself, yes all alone
my mind and eyes wonder
my heart tends to roam.
"Excuse me" says a man
"Where is a gas station for my car"
"About three blocks down and to the right"
I said " It's not really that far."
"If you want I could walk you."
I said without thinking twice
"Yeah, I'd apprecate that."
"Boy people around here sure are nice"
As we're walking down the street
all these feelings start
from the top of my head
to the bottom if my heart.
My stomach it churns
my heart it pounds
my head it splits
my world is spinning in rounds.
My eyes how they flutter
my cheeks how they blush
my feet, yes, are stomping
oh gosh what a rush!!
My hands do sweat
my blood does race
there is a smile
upon my face.
Before I know it we're there
at the station as he pays for his gas
I knew this moment would come
I saw it come and let it pass.
Now we say our goodbyes
we both need to be on our way
I said to him "Maybe we'll meet again some other day."
As I walk the opposite way of him
and he walks the opposite of me
I think only to myself
thats how love must be.
