Mirage

Mirage

Your love for me was nothing but a mirage
To be loved by you, I thought a privelege
You used me and felt no pain
Then why must I bear all the shame?

I thought I had found you fair and true
But you found it hard to follow through
You never cared to wipe the tears
Then why have I wasted all these years?

I still keep you beneath my pillow
Dreaming of the days spent beneath the willow
If your love was nothing but a mirage
Then my pain, I must camouflage.

Somehow, I will block you out
And then have nothing to cry about.
