What A Hole Leaves

What A Hole Leaves

Once the cocoon is emptied
what fills the husk, the hole
great big world awaits
choose from a list of fates
fly toward your earthly goal

Be seen emerging, pixie
wing dust flitting to and fro
co-mingling with tears
shed throughout years
you were never alone, you know?

Neither shades of black and orange
nor a changing of your face
fools a soul into believing
hell-bent on deceiving
a heart's lost lonely place

So flit and fly and sail away
from entombment binding so
co-mingling in your make-over
owed not a single "take over"
butterflies are free, you know?

Force it, erstwhile caterpillar
not as gifted when you wore
precious binding ties
clearly seen through all the lies
you are stronger than before

wing dust glitter to and fro
tears co-mingle as you go
fly away from life's great woe
because butterflies are free, you know?
