Ironic - thanx4 the muse, MikeC

…thought of writing an “I” sonnet
about how ironic
1 relationship can become
when I merge & You diverge,
but I quickly realized that 14 lines
would not Your scheme define.

This roller coaster
Ur colder-closer-than-from-afar
has the makings of an odd lesson.
4seemingly, only I was taken by obsession
under the mistaken impression
when I approached
You with love’s quest touch
& broached the subject of us
that 4a relationship’s success, trust
was required & desired.
…thought we’d grow grapes of greatness
escape fakeness & pretenses.
Now it seems the entire time
You had us wired 2expire on vines,
on fences.

I guess my no banter manner
enabled You 2label
my actions as a man’s errand way
But that’s a transparent play:
2use jargon4 insulation
when I bargained4 inspiration.

What is an actual sadder fact
is as a practical matter that
I didn’t expect ironic
I expected a gift that would shift
the earth’s tectonic plates
n2 a maneuverable, moveable landmass
on which we’d stand fast, in place
in a mystical, irresistible embrace.
But clearly, You didn’t share my pair theory.
So now my eyes mist with pains in the seismic range
----misery, ironic & histrionics----
