Her little hands unfold And her eyes open Peering down at the little cricket It chirps as it tickles her palm And she giggles and dances in the sunlight She gently releases it onto the ground Blowing it a kiss she turns and skips away
She knows that she will be late But new friends surround her The butterfly hovers at her nose And the bird sings She has learned so much out here in the field More than she does in school But now she must go
She did well in school today And she ate all of her supper Her dolls had tea with her And her kitten joined them Tomorrow is a new day She hopes it rains so she can play in the puddles And as her parents tuck her in and wish her sweet dreams
A cricket chirps from under her pillow
If my halo fell it would become a noose. Luckily my horns hold it up!
