Two Pennies

There she stood behind the counter



I placed my order



She blinked and green eyes flashed



I reached out with my total



She reached out with her hand



Her long red hair brushed against my wrist



Two pennies were dropped into my palm



I stared into her eyes



She smelled good amongst the scent of burgers



She blinked again those green eyes



I was holding up the line



That was love at first sight for me



But it was forgotten in the days other events



Until years later



I recalled it in my mind's eye



Now she blinks and I kiss her forehead



She still gives me her two cents



And so much more

If my halo fell it would become a noose. Luckily my horns hold it up!
