Eye Opener

Eye Opener

Always and forever. Isn't that what you said?
Isn't that what you promised while you cradled my head?

Where your eyes once shone are now empty black cavities,
And the dark bags beneath them sad victims of gravity.

I try to see in them what once was so clear,
In the days that you loved me and always were near.

But the vacant vacuities merely prove that you chose
Your dirty fucking needles over me, your rose.

By closing your eyes, you opened mine-
So thanks to you, with this I'm fine.

Always and forever? No thanks, not me.
But I'll pray for you, baby, that maybe one day you'll see.
