THE HUNGER

THE HUNGER

HE VISITED ME IN MY DREAMS AT NIGHT,
AT FIRST HIS FACE WAS SHEILDED FROM MY SIGHT;
AND EVERY NIGHT HE WOULD COME CLOSER AND CLOSER TO ME;
THEN ONE NIGHT HIS FACE I FINALLY DID SEE;
AND I STOOD THERE BEFORE HIM FROZEN IN FEAR,
WITH MY HEART BEATING LOUDLY IN MY EAR;
AND THEN HE TOUCHED MY FACE AND SPOKE MY NAME,
AND I KNEW AT THAT MOMENT THAT MY LIFE WOULD NEVER BE THE SAME;
HIS HANDS WERE SO COLD THEY SENT CHILLS DOWN MY SPINE,
AND FROM HIS MOUTH DRIPPED BLOOD IN A MATICULOUS DESIGN;
HIS EYES WERE COLD AND PITCH BLACK AND EMPTY,
AND I TRIED TO SREAM BUT I COULDNT EVEN HEAR ME;
HE PULLED ME CLOSE AND SUNK HIS TEETH INTO MY VEIN;
AND IT FELT LIKE I WAS ENGULFED IN A PASSIONATED FLAME;
HE FED OFF MY BODY FOR WHAT SEEMED TO BE FOREVER,
AND THEN HE WHISPERED TO ME THAT WE WOULD ALWAYS BE TOGETHER;
AND THEN I PASSED OUT AND I WOKE AND HIS SPELL I WAS UNDER;
AND INSIDE OF ME LIVED A NEW FOUND HUNGER;
