summer sweat

summer sweat

It started with a raindrop,
Ascending through damp trees,
Rushing passed the weeping limbs,
Carried on a breeze.

Summer sweat was sweet then,
Beside a steady stream,
Feelings of emotion rise,
Like something in a dream,

So quick to fall and crashing,
Upon the naked floor,
Enough to soothe the aching,
Then leave me wanting more,

Thunder roared an echoed thrust,
Fighting smothered air,
Lightning flared this twisting storm,
Then fading to a stare.

Clearly lightened skies emerge,
Memories here to keep,
Relaxed somewhere beneath the limbs,
In the heart of summers sleep,
