When I looked into your eyes,
I wondered what I would see.
I didn't want a surprise--
Just the truth, what it may be.
They were too clearly pained,
From just what I'm not sure.
But that their memories were stained
With Deception's once warm purr.
Were you, I wonder, betrayed?
Do you know the pain I feel?
What if I had just stayed--
Were the things you said real?
How can you even think to know
The hurt of loss I've felt!
Of course I had to go
Before Deception beside me knelt.
Now I can see the facts laid bare,
The truth snow white yet not clean.
Though things have been ended fair,
Too much sorrow have I seen.
Can you ask me to forgive?
To let these things pass...
To get over it and live,
Not merely watch through a glass.
I want to be with you without a catch.
I want my growing love to be pure;
Not just a brief moment to snatch,
Nor any wrong lure.
I want it to be in the past,
All I want is the truth now.
No matter what, let it last.
Making it work, no matter how.
Tell me it hasn't been too long.
Tell me it was worth the fight.
Tell me that we're not both wrong--
Tell me it will be all right.
You have said "I love you,"
And even in the midst of war
I say "I love you too";
And know what you're really fighting for.
I finallly wrote a love poem that's not heartbreaking! And it's not for me--it's for two characters (if you can tell who they are, please say nothing!). I love it! I hate the title though... XP
What is the greatest meaning of the word "love"? That a person would give his life for his friend.
