strength not weakness

strength not weakness

The leaves have changed their colour,
And a new season reaches out,
Behind the green bushes,
That have grown four years stout,

The trees whisper, ‘the time has come,’
The dreaded hour of logic,
When spring rains drip out their last,
And the sun is energetic,

His love, if love it was, has fled,
The wisdom in the bushes is humbling,
I must concede and open my eyes,
And suppress my wild thoughts mumbling,

Our minds are full of fantasy,
Irrepressibly daft dreams,
Reserving love for those undeserving
Who rob us of radiant beams,

Let my being prevail,
For all the love of those who come and go
Shall find me untouched, as the day I was born,
When he arrives, who deserves much more.
