bothersome bit of fur

bothersome bit of fur

grey cat
Marble green eyes
saucer wide
about to enter routine combat
Group of Blue-Jays
intent on argument
Fat grey cat stalks
toward birds tree habitat
Confident feline
so sure of his prey
Bluejackets will not scurry and fly
Easy conquest
why don't they vanish away?
One after one
Birds of bright lavendar
emit warlike shrieks and crys
A cat it seems just an amateur
A fat cat pretending in the sun
Just another bothersome harmless bit of fur
A fat grey cat
slinks away
whose days work is done.
