Without you, my air is missing an
element, my atmosphere is too thin
to breathe. So take a seat, you’re

here to stay, an essential
elemental segment of me.

The moonlight reflects me in
your eyes. I look like a tiny twin
embryo developing, incubating

inside your head. I like that
idea, me inside of you.

You can re-invent me in any
way you want and take me
out or keep me in, whatever

will complete you at the time.
And I can breathe and expand

and grow because of you,
because you bring with you
your essence which has become

my essence and completes me
where I am.

The moonlight becomes us both:
Years don’t line our faces in
the moonlight, only the contours

we have known and cherished
since the beginning of time,

our time. Did I tell you time
began for me when I first saw
myself, reflected back to me

gentled and contoured in
the softness of your eyes?

My life has been that since,
contoured by you, by your reflection of me.
So take a seat. You’re here to stay.
