She's Empty

She's Empty

Every night she cries herself to sleep
And a picture she keeps close to her heart
The days are always long
And with her friends she no longer wants to be a part

She can not stomach to eat
And she is tired of saying she is fine
The aching never goes away
And she is reminded all the time

She walks by the room
And each day it seems to get harder
She sits by the door
And she cries over the picture of her daughter

She counts the candles on the cake
And she wishes as her tears begin to pour
She shakes with sadness
Because today her baby would have been four

She will never be happy
With the answers that she has sought
Because she knows
She survived and that her baby did not

If my halo fell it would become a noose. Luckily my horns hold it up!
