A kuwaiti Marriage

Before you read this poem, please know that 90% of all kuwaiti marraiges are arranged and that not everyone gets a choice. That's why I wrote this.

Shocked, surprised, in awe I stare at myself.
I think: Are you really going to do this?
Are you ready and prepared?
Are you willing to take the risk?
Are you willing to change your life?
Are you wanting for a new beginning?
Are you going to deal with any disadvantages that come your way?
Are you eager for this?
I say: “No. but do I have a choice?”
And I run down the street to the wedding, wedding dress in hand.
