A long darkness of the soul,
shackled to the memories
of the sunshine and flowers
beneath your smothering blanket of chilling death.

New hope, tendered mercifully,
where the sapling became the tree;
the seed, the blossom,
and the rain of peace gave a glimmer of life.

Torrid heat of passion,
swift and burning,
thirsting for relief,
a drought that kills all it touches.

Cool, refreshing grace
filled with colorful splendor
and a gentle, soothing pace
filled with the promise of eternity.

The obscure words of an obscure poet.
