What Nelson Did

What Nelson Did

I had a little too much to drink that day
Didn't want sex, no roll in the hay
But Nelson, he didn't understand
Took what he wanted upon demand

My virginity, which I fiercely protected
Was gone in an instant, my body dissected
Violated I lay in dismay
Who was he to treat me that way

To take from me what I held dear
Then from one eye, trickled one tear
I composed myself, and made my way home
A mile walk - and cried all alone

I pretended everything was okay
And that I regret until this day
Charges I should have pressed
Remained unfiled, his crime unaddressed

Scot free the nasty bastard got away
And I've never resolved what happened that day
Didn't say a word, for I was ashamed
Thought in some eyes, I might be blamed

But the fact is, the fault wasn't mine
Although I fought, he said, QUIET! its fine
My virginity is not the only thing he stole
He, unpunished, took part of my soul

******Afternote - unfortunately this actually occured. After 26 years, it feels great to let it go. Thank you for reading.
