You have gone
into the dark folds of that
broken place,
where my hopes once floated on the crest
of a tidal wave,
then came crashing down
to join the carnage from other places.

You are there with all the failures,
and broken promises,
and opened Pandora's boxes.

With all the ugliness of realities
and mis-shaped insanities.

I sit here and I remember you
because now you're just a memory.
I can't call you and try to redeem it
because its all so crooked,
and I don't want you know that,
because I know you can't see it.
