In the end.

In the end.

You look at me with spaniel eyes
and desperation immediately ensues.
I fall into a state of debility
every time I glance into your optic doom.

the thunderous voice of tenacious guilt.
Ear splitting:
the bittersweet sound of truth.

" In the end, we are all alone."

the likelihood of continual rapture.
You are still hopeful and certain
that our binding love will recommence.
I am sadly without faith:
and haggard.

" In the end, we are vacuous."

You speak to me in a diabolical tone.
Words both hurtful and dishonest.
Deliberate wounds are inflicted.
Without delay, we are disconnected,
moving further away from a pleasing embrace.

" In the end, we are misplaced."

Lingering expectations
are destroyed by the infinity,
and time's wicked velocity intrudes.
I deliver my burning conclusion,
in an overwhelming discomfort.
Though my heart, splitting in agony-
wishes to dwindle from this moment,
my quivering lips eject one last declaration.

" In the end, there is no hope."

You look at me one last time,
and sorrow turns to vengeance.
" In the end, we will kill the one who meant us no harm."

You discover that the monster you keep running from, is the monster in you. ~ Darren Hayes.
