The Winter Eve

The Winter Eve

I heard a knock on my door
A sweet ring tone voiced a call..
"I'm waiting at your door",said He
On a winter eve..and I felt numb...

As if hauled by a strong tide
I found me lash out to the shore
Where He stood expecting me
To board on a voyage of love..!

I felt it took an hour
Just to turn the knob
O how i wished it'd ne'er end-
The moment that gifted His smile!

Locked in the warmth of His love
Smiling and smiling stood I
And each moment softly tread by
As if not wishing us part

Then on we sailed on and on
An eternal journey of love
Tough were the tides, you know,
But none could sink us low.

Many a shore we passed
Many a tide we crossed
Still the Winter eve
So lovely,comes alive

The first kiss,though not deep
(Why so?,oft think I!)
I feel its warmth on my lips
You found 'em petals too soft
To fall at the softest of touch?!

While sailing all alone
Amidst the waves so cold
The Winter eve once more
Knocks with the warmth of love..

I long to go again
To wait at that doorstep
Love,can we meet again
To start the sail afresh?!
