i lay here alone, thinking of you
wondering if youre thinking of me too
i wipe away a tear out of my eye
i promised myself i would not cry
i swore years ago i would forget
i did nothing wrong i have nar to regret
but lookin out my window at the bright stars
i recall you being away so far
and are you looking at the same bright moon
are you silently wishing too?
i pretend im okay i lie to myself
i do it each day to get through this hell
but now i can let the walls down around me
where there is no prying eyes to see
no sympathy, no pity, no shame
i dont have to hide feeling this way
but its all just thought
a lesson i've been taught
i twist and i turn, then i lay still
knowing if i speak i will lose all my will
i refuse to break down, i dont wanna cry
im better off after all this long time
if i just move on forget you exist
push away your goodbye kiss
all those years
all those tears
you left us walked out the door
said you didnt love or want us no more
and now im sick of trying to fake
daddy, after ten years i still feel heartache
