My Body, the Wick of a Burning Flame

My Body, the Wick of a Burning Flame

Here I slowly deliquesce,
Just as the wick from the candles flame.
Truly it was I who made this mess,
I broke the rules and lost the game.

She was right there in front of me,
Plainly beautiful, like a summer day.
And yet my eyes could not see,
This angel begin to fly away.

My passion became dry,
And my actions proved unclean.
Drawn by such a seducing high,
I lost vision of what our love did mean.

As the summer day turns to a winter night.
I am cold without the warmth of her embrace,
Accompanied only by a bitter fright,
That the summer will never again reface.

I can only hope that she will notice,
That my intentions are now but only pure.
For she will feel it in my kiss,
Of this I could never be more sure.

With nothing else running through my mind,
I have only one wrong I wish to make right.
Without her eyes looking into mine I am blind,
My only wish is to resolve this meaningless fight.
