Slowly this pain dissolves,
Like a drop of water,
Upon the hot cement.
Heart and mind co-evolves,
Once more, no self slaughter.
Peaceful thoughts now unbent.
Withered are his desires,
Like autumn leaves on fire,
Lessened to small ashes.
He no longer aspires,
To be the defier,
Of a fate that slashes.
His thoughts no longer dwell,
Like a memory stained,
Set free by true closure.
Relieved from this dark spell,
Like prisoners unchained,
Her hold fails to secure.
Sailing off in the winds of bliss,
No longer caring for this place,
The place of broken hearts and dreams.
I was betrayed by her soft kiss,
Like the fool who believes loves grace.
This effort lost all hope it seems.
Tightly sewn are these burning open wounds,
Caused by events thrown into down spiral.
Her hand slips from mine and she falls down.
Remembrance of our well-spent afternoons,
Washed away by closures hand so viral.
Finally I rid myself of this frown.
