When I Say I Love You

When I Say I Love You

When I say I love you, do not believe you have any idea upon that which I mean; you have not, not even a clue. Instead open your thoughts to anything that crosses it. I do not love you for your beauty, one day it will be gone and my love will stay. It is not your mind that causes my love, though I love it very much. Your humor as sick as mine, changes my love non whatsoever. I love you not for your hands, nor your feet, nor your scars-though they catch my eye with such delight. No, not even the way your eyes stare into mine as if you see through each safety, though this above all could convince me at times, it is not what I refer to when I say I love you. I love you not for your puppy dog voice, nor your obnoxious scream-but in spite rather. Spit to my face could not diminish this; lies upon lies mean nothing to my love. Slaps and shoving do not cause a jolt- razors upon veins does not cause my love to be in vain- it is not wasted and nothing could ever make it so. I love your taste but it is not what causes my love. My mind has seen the tricks you play, but my heart has never cared for those foolish games. My love is much simpler than any such things; I love you because of who you are. As you change it never will, It will follow you whatever shall happen in life. I love even knowing that you feel the same, much as you wish not to- As much as you submerse it beneath your safeties, as much as you believe you do not. Take a look for yourself if my words are not enough- take a look it is there- Every time I connect with your eyes I see it, I see it so well that every time I look into you the pain and pleasure, the happiness, sadness, bliss, and sorrow that it evokes is so strong I have to tear my eyes away from yours. I love you for how you love me, as hidden as it maybe.
